Meet Christy Katke, MSW, LCSW

I have been in private practice for over 20 years. Throughout my career, I have worked with talented and supportive psychiatrists and therapists who have helped me grow and learn as a practitioner. I have learned that everyone is unique, and therefore, everyone’s journey in life is unique. I work to support each individual to help them move forward, find solutions, heal old wounds, and make necessary changes for a healthier life. It can help with identifying and working through feelings and understanding the challenges in your life. Therapy can be a safe place to deal with life struggles and help work through pain and sadness. It can provide feedback and perspective. Therapy is not about telling you what to do, but about offering insight and guidance to help you choose the best direction forward. No matter what the circumstances, you can always make changes to create a better life.

How do I find the right therapist?

This is such an important question! Finding a therapist is a very personal decision. It can take time to find the right person. It’s very important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist. Can you imagine trusting this person? Do you feel respected, understood, and accepted by this therapist? Are you able to ask questions and express concerns? Taking that first step is difficult, but finding the right therapist who will work with you to understand the challenges you face is a step in the right direction.
